In addition, some libraries offer specific community support, which will also be of benefit to new arrivals, such as:

• Organising a foodbank donation point in the library, for example at Thimblemill Library, Sandwell (Clark, n.d.); Ivybridge Library in Devon (Ivybridge Foodbank, n.d.) and Waltham Forest Libraries in east London (Waltham Forest Community Help Network, 2021).

• Organising collections of other items, e.g. baby clothes, pushchairs, cribs, blankets and nappies, also at Thimblemill Library, Sandwell.

• Provision of free sanitary products to support the community in combating period poverty, for example Norfolk Libraries’ ‘Tricky Period & Toiletries to Go’ (Norfolk County Council, 2021); East Renfrewshire’s free sanitary products (East Renfrewshire Council, 2021).
